Executive Bios
Jane Ottenberg, President, started her career on Capitol Hill working for a Maryland senator and progressed to managing a section of a national presidential campaign. She went on to help start up several regional publications. More than 26 years later, she is still involved in every facet of publishing magazines—and now online initiatives, as well. In addition to her responsibilities at The Magazine Group, she serves on the boards of several educational and philanthropic organizations.
With a strong editorial background, Jane understands the process from the client's point of view and uses that insight to oversee the company and ensure that the clients are well served and that all TMG publishing projects meet her standards for excellence.

Richard Creighton is the Principal and co-founder of The Magazine Group—the leading independent custom publishing company in the country. With over 26 years experience advising organizations from nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies on their publishing programs, he is considered to be one of the leaders in the custom publishing industry. Author of several articles on custom publishing and a frequent speaker at conferences, he started The Magazine Group with his business partner, Jane Ottenberg, in 1981.

Jay Carven, Chief Financial Officer, brings over 20 years of experience in financial and operational leadership positions within media, technology and manufacturing industries. Jay has held financial leadership positions in other publishing companies, including vice president of Finance, Eagle Publishing, and CFO, Technomic Publishing Company.
Prior to joining TMG, Jay served as vice president of services for Next Day Blinds. As CFO, Jay brings to the table a first-class financial skill set and a forward-thinking vision with proven leadership talents.

Connie Otto, Senior Vice President, Production
, has been with The Magazine Group for 20 years. Experienced in all phases of magazine production, her day-to-day concerns are to ensure that the overall design and production processes flow smoothly for all clients.

Erni Bridges, Vice President, Recruitment/HR, has 13 years of solid recruiting experience. Erni began her recruiting career in Europe working for the federal government. In 1993 she joined the private sector in a recruiting position where she honed her recruiting and business skills.
Before joining The Magazine Group, Erni spent four and a half years with Data Systems Analysts, Inc. She developed a winning recruiting program and was responsible for implementing the infrastructure necessary to meet strategic recruiting goals and objectives, as well as the processes and procedures to integrate the program with management. During her tenure she served on the scholarship committee with the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses, Washington Chapter.
Erni has a keen sense of understanding the complexity of cross-generational work styles, and knows how to use that understanding to give her a definite recruiting edge to hire the best.
